In the present scenario of a global biodiversity crisis, IDECC recognizes an urgent need for enhancing the efforts in describing and protecting the megadiverse biodiversity found in the tropical regions of the world, and especially in the West African countries where we work the most. Our Department works actively at understanding the distribution, diversity and conservation requirements of West African organisms, with special emphasis on Amphibians, Reptiles and Mammals.
